Today, we’re honored to announce that Along has earned the iKeepSafe FERPA and COPPA privacy badges. These badges are displayed on our website to show that we’ve been proactively and independently assessed by an experienced privacy protection organization.

Why does this matter so much to us?  We’ve always prioritized the protection of children’s personal information and we designed Along to keep student information safe, secure, and private. Student data privacy is quite simply at the core of everything we do.

And, we know that as school leaders and educators are considering new tools for relationship building at the start of a new school year, they are looking for trusted platforms that have been rigorously certified.

These certifications from the independent organization Internet Keep Safe Coalition (iKeepSafe) assures that Along is aligned with best practice guidelines surrounding the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Our compliance with state and federal requirements for handling protected personal information showcases our ongoing commitment to our educator and student users, as well as to our school leader and parent community. And, our team remains focused on maintaining Along as a protected space for students, with privacy at the forefront and where students own their data.

Additionally, Along will undergo annual re-evaluation to continue displaying the iKeepSafe badges.

We invite you to learn more about our core commitments to data privacy by reading this blog and watching this video on the 5 ways that Along keeps student information safe, secure, and private.
